Alcaraz can’t stop, won’t stopThe Spaniard made sure to stay unbeaten this year as he gave not the start of a single moment of hope to Arthur Fils in the final (6-2, 6-1). 
 
It took just 50 minutes for Carlos Alcaraz to clinch his first-ever Qatar ExxonMobil Open and stay unbeaten in twelve matches so far in 2026. And he also stayed perfect against Arthur Fils, defeating him for a third time in as many matches, this time in a one-way traffic battle (6-2, 6-1). Beaten here last year in the quarterfinals by Jiri Lehecka, Alcaraz came back to finish the job, and he did. 
 
“It’s been a great start to the year,” confirmed Alcaraz. “It wasn’t easy to be honest because I had to be strong mentally with my team. I’m really happy with all the work done in the pre-season, to play a great season, and very happy about this week on and off the court. This trophy means a lot to me. The love of the people and the support I received every day are amazing, and that’s what I’ll keep with me. You make me feel at home, and I can’t wait to come back next year.” 
 
Alcaraz, who was made to sweat in his previous rounds this week, showed that when he reaches a final, he finds another gear! Right from the start of the match, he started to dictate everything with his power and his variations. He didn’t let Fils find any comfort from the baseline and denied him the use of his already famous forehand. The World No.1 had all the answers on Saturday night, playing with great confidence and charging to the net as he pleased.&nbsp; 
“I just played great today”, said Alcaraz. “I was just really focused on that. The finals are where you have to show your best level. Obviously, I think Arthur was making a lot of mistakes at the start of the match, and that gave me the confidence to play relaxed and calm. He let me dominate the game, dominate every point. I was always in a good position. I played really solid, aggressively when I could, passing when I had to.” There was no room to breathe for Fils, who also hadn’t a match against such a player in a long time due to his back injury. Even Goran Ivanisevic couldn’t help him turn this match around from the box. “Arthur has just started to play again recently, and he made the final here, beating great guys, so I'm pretty sure he's going to get back to the level to be at the top,” Alcaraz stated. 
 
Fils, who returned to the Tour only earlier this month, will, of course, keep more good memories from his time at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open than disappointing ones. 
“The goal is to stay positive, of course, after a good week and a final here. Today, it was much more complicated for me, but these are things that can happen, and we have to move forward. I played less well than I did the rest of the week, but he's number one. He hasn't lost a game since the start of the year. I think you can see why. For now, it's another level. I'm not there yet. I'm not there at all. I'll work on it, but for now, I'm not there at all. He played very, very well; nothing to say. From the start, he puts a lot of pressure. It goes fast…” Arthur Fils 
 
As for Alcaraz, he has also used this week to gain ground on World No.2 Jannik Sinner in the ranking, as the battle for the throne is never far from the mind. The Australian Open champion will now head to the Double Sunshine in Indian Wells and Miami with the wins, the trophies, and a huge mattress of confidence. 
“It feels like the job is finished right now, which is great. It was a great week, on and off the court. Seeing myself accomplish all the goals that I set for myself at the beginning of the week, it makes me really proud of myself and my team. Lifting the trophy in Doha for the first time, it feels amazing. (...)&nbsp; I love playing tennis, and I love competing. Alcaraz gets first title in Doha, stays unbeatable!

Karolina Muchova captured her first title since 2019 after defeating Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko in the Qatar Open final. 
Following her 6–4, 7–5 triumph, the Czech star said it had “been some time since I last won a tournament, so it feels great to experience that feeling again.”
The victory — her first at WTA 1000 level and second overall after winning the Korea Open seven years ago — will see her rise from world No. 19 to No. 11 in Monday’s updated rankings. 
Muchova delivered a strong opening set, landing 75% of her first serves and dropping only three points behind them. 
Mboko, 19, built a 4–2 advantage in the second set, but Muchova responded by breaking serve twice to close out the match in 94 minutes. 
Despite the defeat, Mboko — who began the 2025 season ranked outside the top 300 — is set to break into the world’s top 10 after recording the most match wins on the women’s tour this season. 
Admitting it was “not the result I was hoping for,” she added: “There are many positives to take from this.” 
The next WTA 1000 tournament begins in Dubai on Sunday, though it will be missing the world’s top two players. Aryna Sabalenka, sidelined since her loss to Elena Rybakina in last month’s Australian Open final, said she is “not feeling 100%,” while Iga Swiatek, a Doha quarter-finalist, cited a “schedule adjustment” for her absence.

Karolina Muchova claimed her first title since 2019 with a straight-sets win over Victoria Mboko in the Qatar Open final. The Czech star’s composed performance secured her maiden WTA 1000 crown and a return to the world’s top 15, while Mboko’s impressive run is set to push the 19-year-old into the top 10 for the first time.

The draw for the Qatar ExxonMobil Open men's tennis tournament took place today, setting the stage for intense matchups. The prestigious tournament, organized by the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation, will be held from February 17 to 22 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.

There weren’t many tournaments at which&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/players/roger-federer/f324/overview">Roger Federer</a>&nbsp;did not do his fair share of winning during his illustrious career. The&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/tournaments/doha/451/overview">Qatar ExxonMobil Open</a>&nbsp;was no exception.
Federer won the hard-court event in Doha a record three times across eight appearances between 2002 and 2021. His tally of 27 match wins also remains a tournament record.
This year, Federer’s fellow former World No. 1&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/players/novak-djokovic/d643/overview">Novak Djokovic</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/players/roberto-bautista-agut/bd06/overview">Roberto Bautista Agut</a>&nbsp;will compete in Doha as two-time champions with a chance of equalling Federer’s record Doha title haul. 2005: A Masterful Maiden Title 
After a quarter-final run on event debut in 2002, Federer arrived for his second appearance in Doha three years later as a different beast altogether. He had dominated the 2004 ATP Tour season, during which he lifted 11 titles including three Grand Slam trophies. With the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/tournaments/doha/451/overview">Qatar ExxonMobil Open</a>&nbsp;then a season-opening event held in the first week of January, Federer kick-started his 2005 by lifting the Doha crown without dropping a set.
Competing as the No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings, Federer dropped just 23 games across his five matches and capped his run by easing past his future coach&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/players/ivan-ljubicic/l360/overview">Ivan Ljubicic</a>&nbsp;in the championship match. It was the first success in a stellar 2005 for the Swiss, who went on to secure another 11-title season.

2006: Red-Hot Roger’s Doha Double 
Federer lost just four matches between his 2005 Doha triumph and his return to the hard-court event at the start of the 2006 season, yet he would still have been eager to bounce back quickly from the most recent of those defeats: against&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/players/david-nalbandian/n301/overview">David Nalbandian</a>&nbsp;while struggling with an ankle injury in the final of the 2005 Tennis Masters Cup. The then-24-year-old Federer certainly showed few signs of any hangover from that disappointment upon his return to action in early January in the Gulf nation.
He was given an early test in his title defence, when&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/players/fabrice-santoro/s424/overview">Fabrice Santoro</a>&nbsp;pushed him to two tie-breaks in the second round. After pulling through against the Frenchman, however, it was normal service resumed for Federer. He defeated&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/players/marcos-baghdatis/b837/overview">Marcos Baghdatis</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/players/tommy-haas/h355/overview">Tommy Haas</a>&nbsp;and a teenage&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/players/gael-monfils/mc65/overview">Gael Monfils</a>, all in straight sets, to ease to his second consecutive Doha crown.
"It's a beautiful start to the year, winning a tournament without dropping a set," said Federer. "It also shows that the ankle problem I had toward the end of the last season is behind me."
As it turned out, the World No. 1's title run launched the most successful season of his career: Federer ultimately won a career-best 12 titles, including major crowns at the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/tournaments/australian-open/580/overview">Australian Open</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/tournaments/wimbledon/540/overview">Wimbledon</a>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/tournaments/us-open/560/overview">US Open</a>, in 2006.

2011: Heating Up For A Hat-trick 
After back-to-back semi-final defeats in Doha in 2009 and 2010, Federer again lifted the trophy, and again without dropping a set, through a rock-solid set of performances to begin his 2011 season.
The then-World No. 2 defeated&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/players/jo-wilfried-tsonga/t786/overview">Jo-Wilfried Tsonga</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/players/nikolay-davydenko/d402/overview">Nikolay Davydenko</a>&nbsp;to cap his third and final&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/tournaments/doha/451/overview">Qatar ExxonMobil Open</a>&nbsp;title run. It would prove to be his only tour-level crown in the opening 10 months of that year, before he summoned a strong finish to triumph in Basel, Paris and at the 2011&nbsp;<a href="https://www.atptour.com/en/tournaments/nitto-atp-finals/605/overview">Nitto ATP Finals</a>.

Federer competed in Doha twice more, in 2012 and 2021, but did not reach another championship match. He nonetheless ended his career with a 27-4 record at an event where he frequently spoke about feeling comfortable enough to produce some of his best tennis.
“This is a pleasure coming to this part of the world where I actually do spend quite a bit of time, and I've always had good friends here in Qatar,” said Federer after his 6-3, 6-4 triumph against Davydenko in the 2011 final. “I love playing here, been successful here in the past. That's the reason why I come here.”

The Qatar Tennis Federation has confirmed that the world’s top 10 players will compete in the 2025 Qatar TotalEnergies Open, set to take place from February 9 to 15 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
Leading the charge is world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus, joined by world No. 2 Iga Swiatek of Poland and world No. 3 Coco Gauff from the United States.
The tournament promises an extraordinary lineup, featuring Italy’s Jasmine Paolini (world No. 4), China’s Zheng Qinwen (world No. 5), American Jessica Pegula (world No. 6), Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina (world No. 7), American Emma Navarro (world No. 8), Czech Republic’s Barbora Krejcikova (world No. 9), and Russia’s Daria Kasatkina (world No. 10).
The competition will see 64 players battling it out in the singles main draw and 32 teams competing in the doubles category. With a total prize pool of $3,654,963, the event is part of the prestigious WTA 1000 series.
Tournament Director Saad Al-Mohannadi emphasized the federation’s readiness to host the tournament at the highest standards.
“We are delighted to welcome the world’s finest players back to the 2025 Qatar TotalEnergies Open. Our dedicated team is committed to delivering a world-class experience for players and fans alike, ensuring every detail—from state-of-the-art facilities to exceptional logistics—meets the highest expectations,” Al-Mohannadi stated.

Russian player&nbsp;Andrey Rublev&nbsp;was crowned champion of the&nbsp;Qatar ExxonMobil Open&nbsp;men’s tennis tournament (ATP 500 category) for the second time in his career after defeating Britain's&nbsp;Jack Draper&nbsp;today.
Rublev, the fifth seed in the tournament and the 2020 champion, secured victory over his British opponent, the eighth seed, in a three-set battle&nbsp;(7-5, 5-7, 6-1)&nbsp;in the final, which lasted&nbsp;two hours and four minutes&nbsp;on the center court of the&nbsp;Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
His Excellency&nbsp;Mr. Nasser bin Ghanim Al Khelaifi, President of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation, presented the&nbsp;Golden Falcon trophy&nbsp;to the Russian champion and awarded the runner-up trophy to the British player. The ceremony was attended by&nbsp;Karim Alami, the tournament director, and&nbsp;Darren Woods, CEO and Chairman of ExxonMobil.
This victory marks&nbsp;Rublev’s second title in Qatar&nbsp;and the&nbsp;17th title&nbsp;of his professional career. The&nbsp;27-year-old&nbsp;world No. 10 has now defeated&nbsp;Draper in all four encounters&nbsp;between them.
Rublev began his&nbsp;33rd edition&nbsp;Qatar ExxonMobil Open campaign with straight-set victories over&nbsp;Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik&nbsp;in the first round and&nbsp;Portugal’s Nuno Borges&nbsp;in the second round.
In the&nbsp;quarterfinals, he overcame&nbsp;second seed Alex de Minaur&nbsp;of Australia in three sets, before defeating&nbsp;Canada’s Félix Auger-Aliassime&nbsp;in another three-set battle in the&nbsp;semifinals.
Meanwhile,&nbsp;Jack Draper, ranked&nbsp;16th in the world, was playing in his first-ever&nbsp;Qatar ExxonMobil Open final. He started his journey with straight-set wins over&nbsp;Australian Alexei Popyrin&nbsp;in the&nbsp;first round&nbsp;and&nbsp;Australia’s Christopher O’Connell&nbsp;in the&nbsp;second round.
