8th QTF Open Tournament Continues

The competitions of the 8th edition of the QTF Open Tournament continued in style at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex. The event will be concluded on February 8th.

The event features the participation of 230 players from different nationalities to compete in different categories including Boys U8, U9, U10, U 12 and U14, Girls U8, U9, U10, U 12 and U14 Boys Doubles U10 and U18, Ladies Singles, Men’s Singles, Veterans Singles and Mixed Doubles.

In boys U8 event, Victor Hermon qualified to the semifinals after beating Olandizislu Semerno 2-1.

Salman Saifallah Bathan also cruised to the semifinals after beating Khalifa Al Malki 2-0.

For his part, Abdullah Nayef reached the semifinals after edging Ezzat Basira 2-0.

In boys U9, Qatar’s Mohamad Zainal qualified to the finals after beating Yousef Al Abdullah 2-0.

In the final match, Zainal will take on Bartelimi Andrin while edged Hassam Adel 2-0 in the semifinals.

In Boys U10, Nasser Al Hammadi defeated Faisal Al Sheikh to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.

Nasser Al Motawa also qualified to the quarterfinals after beating Sultan Al Jusaiman 2-0. Jassim Al Thani also reached the quarterfinals after defeating Alexy Semernov.

On the other hand, Qatar’s Ibrahim Eid Al Sulaiti qualified to the quarterfinals of U14 Boys event after beating Yowan Andrei Flafiza 2-0.

In Girls U8 event, Caytana Mendez qualified to the final after beating Khadija Ghasasma 2-0.

Rita Malacova also qualified to the final after defeating Ashlin Nanthan 2-0.

In girls U9 event, the Qatari players continued their strong performance as Janah Al Sheikh qualified to the semifinals after beating Lugain Attiha 2-1.

Moreover, Safiya Al Thani reached the semifinals after beating Al Anoud Al Thani 2-0.

For her part, Qatar’s Mashael Al Khenji qualified the semifinals after beating Jowhara Al Thani 2-0.

The tournament comes in light of the QTF’s strategy to provide the Qatari players with opportunities to develop their level and acquire new experience.
