Qatar Total Open 2012 Player Dinner at Four Seasons

February 13, 2012 - DOHA, Qatar – Last night saw the ladies hit the town when the WTA players attended the Qatar Total Open 2012 Player Dinner at the Four Seasons. Players, VIPs and guests were welcomed by Qatar Tennis Federation President, Nasser Bin Ghanim Al Khelaifi, and Stephane Michel, Managing Director, Total Exploration & Production Qatar and Group Representative. Everyone was treated to a dinner and entertainment from local musicians, a magician and juggler. New world No. 1, Victoria Azarenka was joined by all her fellow players, including Caroline Wozniacki, Sabine Lisicki, Francesca Schiavone, Ana Ivanovic, Sorana Cirstea and many others - who are competing in this week’s WTA Premier event.


The Qatar Total Open has had a rich history in Doha, having had some of the game’s top players come to the desert. Past winners have included: Martina Hingis, Monica Seles, Anastasia Myskina, Maria Sharapova, Nadia Petrova and Justine Henin.


Tournament director, Karim Alami, said of the evening:


“It is really nice to be able to see all the players enjoying themselves before the main draw. This WTA Premier event has brought the sport’s top athletes to Doha and we are looking forward to a week of exciting tennis.”
