Qatar Asian Junior Championship 14/U Underway

The Qatar Tennis Federation is proudly hosting the 3rd annual Qatar Asian Junior Championships. Matches began on the 14th of November at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex. This is the final event for the Under 14s individual series. 64 boys and 64 girls are competing in singles and 32 boys and 32 girls in the doubles competition. As the final event of the year in this category, players receive double points.

The knock-out format of each draw makes each match highly competitive. Qatar Tennis Federation provides hospitality for each player until they are knocked out of competition. Players are endorsed by their national association and come from all across Asia, which provides for an extremely competitive field.

Of the eight boys’ singles players who had first round byes, six made it through to the third round. Syria’s Kareem Allaf and the United States’ Escobar Moises both moved on without losing a single game to their opponents. In the girls’ singles, Kazakhstan’s As Jumamukhambeto has not lost a single game in either of her first two rounds.

All matches are being played at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex. Admission is free throughout the tournament.
